Save Our Indian River Lagoon Projects
Hundreds of projects are underway to save our lagoon.
By joining the Lagoon Loyal community effort, you are part of a larger team working throughout Brevard County to improve the lagoon’s health. Other pollutant reduction, removal and restoration projects currently underway as part of the Save Our Indian River Lagoon Program (SOIRL) include:
- Wastewater treatment upgrades
- Septic upgrades or hookup to sewer
- Stormwater treatment
- Muck dredging
- Oyster restoration
- Florida friendly shorelines

Citizen oversight committee meetings
The Citizen Oversight Committee ensures transparent implementation of the SOIRL Project Plan. The Committee meets once per month to review fiscal documents, progress reports, and much more. The public is welcome to attend or livestream.

Lagoon straight talk events
The Brevard Indian River Lagoon Coalition hosts quarterly Lagoon Straight Talk events throughout the county discussing Indian River Lagoon health progress, the tax fund, and projects completed, underway and planned to restore water quality.
